As with the other long slot model we tested, the Breville Die-Cast, this problem was mostly solved when toasting 2 slices in each slot. The smell of the paint, as if the time spent baking the paint in the factory was not long enough, I witnessed the paint line protruding out on the surface of the outside panel presumably from the heat generated when cooking the bread, so I gently push the paint against the panel. Toast pastries, bagels, and other breads to a golden brown color and crispy consistency with the Empire Red 4-Slice Long Slot Toaster with High-Lift Lever by KitchenAid. To make things simple, the empire red toaster comes with specific, easy-to-use options for frozen breads, the cut side of bagels, and more: defrost, bagel, and a little longer.
